No Space for Racism: Our Commitment to Equality and Respect

At Jewel Home Support, there is no space for racism. Every client, family member and member of staff has the right to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or background. This is not just a value we hold; it is a standard we actively enforce across every part of our organisation.

Zero tolerance in practice

We do not tolerate racist language, behaviour or abuse from anyone, whether directed at our carers by a client or family member, or the other way around. Any incident of this kind is treated as a serious matter, investigated promptly, and acted on, up to and including ending a care arrangement or employment where necessary.

Supporting our carers

Many of our carers come from diverse backgrounds and some are recruited internationally under our sponsor licence. We are committed to protecting every member of our team from discrimination and to ensuring they feel safe, valued and supported in their work. Staff are encouraged to report any concerns without fear of reprisal, and every report is taken seriously.

Part of a wider commitment

This sits alongside our other ethical commitments as an employer and care provider, including our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking, set out in our Modern Slavery Statement. Together, these commitments reflect our belief that good care starts with treating everyone, clients and colleagues alike, fairly and with respect.
